FAQs El Portet, Moraira

A couple of frequently asked questions.

What can we expect?
A very relaxing stay with no night life next to you yet with 96 restaurants within 20 minutes walking distance. You will probably spend a lot of time by the pool or the El Portet beach only 5 minutes walk down the hill.

How do we get there?
The closest airport is Alicante, 1hr drive away. Alternatively Valencia has a lot of flights, 1.5hrs away. Renting a car at the airport is a lot cheaper than in most European countries (half the price of e.g. Sweden or the UK).

Enter our address into your Sat Nav: 10 Calle Puerto de la Laja, Moraira. If that doesn’t work put El Portet (the bay down the hill) and then follow these instructions:
From El Portet bay (Avenida del Portet), turn left in narrow entrance to Calle Puerto Espindola, then left onto Calle Puerto Moral, by the recycling bins turn right onto Calle Puerto del Barquero, then right again onto Calle Puerto Lumbreras and finally right onto Calle Puerto de la Laja.

Public transport form Alicante and Valencia
There is a good shuttle service called Beniconnect (http://www.beniconnect.com/bookings/) that costs EUR25 from Alicante airport to Moraira town centre. From Valencia it’s a bit tougher until new tram line opens in 2019.

Arriving late

Should the large supermarkets be closed, normally after 6 or 8PM, there is a 24/7 one called Supercor Expres in Moraira Town Centre opposite the petrol station. Selling alcohol is not allowed in Spain after 10PM.

The closest one is El Portet, 10 minutes down the hill. The biggest one is Moraira’s main one, see To do section. There are several secluded ones further away.

Can we get there by train from London?
Yes, you can leave St Pancras station in the morning, spend the evening/night in Barcelona and be at the house for lunch the next day.

There is parking for three cars at the house.

Is cleaning included, do we need to bring bedlinen?
Both are provided.

Is there a hair dryer?

Are we allowed to bring pets?
Well behaved ones yes.

Where do we go shopping?
There is a small super mercado “Super Mercat” 5 mins from the house for beer and bread etc., but the big shopping is better left to the bigger stores on the outskirts of Moraira (10 min drive); Carrefour, Mas y mas, Pepe la Sal etc.
